As the Nursery is open to the public there is a great opportunity for workmates to run/ develop Community Enterprises!

As the Nursery is open to the public there is a great opportunity for workmates to run/ develop Community Enterprises!

Despite the name, Six Acres is actually a nine acre site, facilities include 9 polytunnels, 5 greenhouses, extensive growing areas, retail nursery, woodland, playarea and large paddock. A newly installed cabin includes two large classrooms, office and toilet/ canteen facilities.

The site will continue to grow and develop, and has already provided a fantastic space for Countryside Enterprises CIC to run a Farm Shop and takeaway Café Service.

Working in partnership with Six Acre Nurseries, WHM Work Connections is able to run a third Skills Centre from the Six Acre site focusing on skill development, qualifications and moving people into employment.

Opportunities available at Six Acres

Takeaway Café

Run as a Community Enterprise, working within the Café provides a wide range of benefits; catering & hospitality skills, work experience and the chance to earn a profit share!

Farm Shop

Also run as a Community Enterprise, The Farm Shop sells fresh produce grown at the various Skills Centres, as well as handmade products produced by workmates. A chance to gain valuable retail experience whilst earning a profit share.

Horticulture

Opportunity to develop a wide range of gardening skills. Get involved in Nursery tasks and experience what it is like working in a garden centre.
